Bio
New York City's Beluga debuted their aggressive, poppy garage sound in
the Fall of 2007, just months after their first practice. Since then,
the five friends (four ladies to one gent) have been unleashing their
catchy hooks on the public at various shows, complimented by their
four-song EP, to much head-bopping and finger-snapping. The origin
of Beluga's name is triple-faceted: the word means "white" in Russian
(the frontwoman's favorite color), it's synonymous with the premier brand
of caviar, and recognizes belugas as highly sociable creatures that
are the most playful, mischievously intelligent, and musically
extroverted of all whales.
